Answered is an AI call assistant that picks up your missed calls, has a natural conversation with the caller, and delivers a summary to your phone. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect
Account information
- Apple user identifier (from Sign in with Apple)
- First name you provide during onboarding
- Optional email address (only if you choose to share it during Apple Sign In)
Phone number information
- Your assigned Answered phone number (a Twilio number we provision for you)
- Phone numbers of people who call you, used for caller attribution and routing
Call data
- Call audio is processed in real time to transcribe speech. For most calls, audio is not stored after the call ends.
- For calls our system identifies as spam, the audio recording is retained for up to 7 days in secure cloud storage so you can review what the caller said. Recordings are automatically deleted after 7 days.
- Call transcripts (text of the conversation) are retained for up to 7 days, then automatically deleted.
- AI-generated call summaries (caller intent, urgency, action items) are retained for up to 7 days, then automatically deleted.
Device tokens used to send you push notifications when a call is handled.
Subscription information
- Your subscription status (free, monthly, or yearly Pro)
- Subscription transaction identifiers
- We do not collect or store your payment card details — those are handled by Apple.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide the AI call answering service and hold a conversation with the caller on your behalf.
- To generate concise call summaries and highlight any follow-up items.
- To send you push notifications so you know about calls in near real time.
- To detect spam, scams, and telemarketing calls and handle them on your behalf.
- To verify and manage your subscription, including processing free trials and renewals through Apple.
Third-Party Services We Share Data With
We use trusted third-party providers to deliver the service. Below is a detailed list of each service, what data is shared, and how it is processed:
We require all third-party services to provide equivalent data protection. We do not share: your contacts, your location, your device identifiers beyond push notification tokens, or your payment card details.
User Consent
You explicitly consent to the third-party data sharing described above during app onboarding. Before using the service, you are presented with a detailed disclosure of every third-party service, what data is shared with each, and must actively agree before proceeding. You can review this consent at any time from the app settings under “Data & AI Services.”
Data Retention
- Call audio (non-spam) — not stored; processed in real time and discarded immediately after the call.
- Call audio (spam) — retained up to 7 days in encrypted cloud storage, then automatically deleted.
- Call transcripts — retained up to 7 days, then automatically deleted.
- Call summaries — retained up to 7 days, then automatically deleted.
- Account information — retained for as long as your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
- Subscription records — retained as required by Apple and applicable tax/accounting laws (typically 7 years).
Your Rights and Choices
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Answered app settings. Deletion is permanent and removes your account information, phone number assignment, transcripts, summaries, and device tokens from our systems within 30 days.
To cancel your subscription, manage it in your Apple ID settings (Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions on your iPhone). Refunds are handled by Apple per their refund policy.
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know, the right to delete, and the right to opt out. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@sumanservices.shop.
Children’s Privacy
Answered is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit using TLS/SSL and encrypted at rest using industry-standard encryption. We apply reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information — no system, however, is perfectly secure.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app. The “Effective date” above reflects the current version.
